Video: Adeola Enigbokan on the shadow client and participatory architecture practices

A lack of gender balance and diversity is not only an issue in architectural offices, but also for those who have a voice in the design process. What attitudes and practices can architects develop in order to do effective participatory design? Where are the keys to more diverse voices in urban development and architectural projects?

Environmental psychologist Adeola Enigbokan speaks about her concept of the Shadow Client, followed by a Q&A. (English) This is followed by a discussion with Ama Koranteng-Kumi (Bloei & Groei and MINO Art Space) and Caroline Thaler (Endeavour). (Dutch)

This conversation took place on Tuesday 6 February 2024 in Antwerp (Belgium). It was organized by PAF - platform voor architectuur & feminisme - in Antwerp (Belgium), in collaboration with MINO Art Space & Agency and Endeavour. You can rewatch the lecture and conversation above.

A written reflection on the evening in Dutch can be found here.
